White Nexus S Now Available from TELUS

TELUS has just introduced the White version of the popular Nexus S Android-based smartphone. The handset is available starting this week for as low as $49.99 with a new three-year agreement.

Furthermore, the carrier offers additional price options for those interested in purchasing the White Nexus S: $399.99 with a new two-year contract and $449.99 with a new one-year agreement.

Customers who wish to purchase the device without signing a new contract must pay $499.99 upfront.

It appears that neither the price options nor the hardware is different from the Black version of the Nexus S.

TELUS Nexus S comes with a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Manufactured by Samsung, Google's Nexus S smartphone is equipped with a single core ARM Cortex-A8 Hummingbird processor, clocked at 1GHz and complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU.

The phone is powered by Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) mobile platform and packs 16GB of internal memory and 512 MB RAM.

The only real downside of the phone is the lack of a microSD card slot for memory expansion, though most users consider the amount of storage provided by default to be sufficient for average use.

On the positive side, Nexus S is Near Field Communication (NFC) capable and allows users to create a Wi-Fi hotspot to share web access with up to 6 Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

Other highlights of the phone include HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, DLNA function, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, built-in GPS receiver, as well as social networking integration through Social Hubs.

The Nexus S sports an average 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and autofocus, as well as secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

The phone's standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery should provide up to 713 hours (428 hours for 3G) of standby time or up to 14 hours (6 hours 40 minutes for 3G) of talk time.
