Samsung Galaxy Z Unveiled in Sweden, Priced at $630

There has been much talk involving a downgraded version of the highly-acclaimed Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, but no details about the phone's specs have emerged until recently.

Samsung Galaxy Z has just been unveiled in Sweden and is now available for pre-order via carrier Three for 3995 SEK (about $630).

The phone strongly resembles its Galaxy S II big brother, but it comes with slightly downgraded features.

The Galaxy Z measures 125.3 x 66.1 x 9.45mm and weighs 135g (battery included), which makes it a bit larger and heavier than the Galaxy S II.

Furthermore, the phone is equipped with a dual-core (possibly) NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz speed and runs the latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system.

Although the Galaxy Z comes with a slightly smaller 4.2-inch Super Clear LCD capacitive touchscreen, the difference between the two is negligible terms of size, but huge when it comes to mobile display technology.

It is a common fact that the Galaxy S II 4.3-inch touchscreen is based on Samsung's Super AMOLED Plus mobile display technology, which is among the best on the market.

Unlike the Galaxy S II that boasts a superior 8-megapixel camera, its less-featured brother sports an average 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, 4x digital zoom and HD video recording support.

The smartphone packs 8 GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Obviously, the phone is HSDPA-enabled and offers users a wide array of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, GPS with A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.

The phone's battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 9 hours of talk time or up to 620 hours of standby time.

There is no information regarding the phone's availability, but Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z in additional European countries in the next weeks.
