Super Mario 64 DS is a game created by Nintendo's own Entertainment Analysis and Development group, and published by the company itself exclusively for its own DS handheld device, released on November 21, 2004, in North America, December 2, that same year, in Japan, on February 24, 2005, in Australia, and on March 11, 2005, in Europe, as a remastered version of the first Super Mario 64 title, which appeared back in the 1990s for the company's Nintendo 64 home console.

The game doesn't alter many of the elements from the original Super Mario 64, in order to draw in players that were pleased by the experience on the Nintendo 64, but does add quite a few enhancements to things like graphics or gameplay as well as the story, which now sees the introduction of more playable characters from Nintendo's famous Mario franchise, besides the Italian plumber himself, including Yoshi, his friendly dinosaur, and sees players engage in an online cooperative mode, thanks to the Nintendo DS' Wi-Fi Connection.

Extra lives
Choose mission 4 to get the most amount of lives that you can get at once. When you start, either run up the path where you meet the Chain Chomp, or get in the cannon and shoot yourself to where the bridge ends. If you run up the path, continue past the Chain Chomp and over the bridge. Jump onto the higher level of the ground. Go over to the two brick blocks to the left and destroy the left one. A mushroom should pop out. Grab the mushroom to turn big. Continue up the path, destroying anything such as enemies, signs, balls, blocks, etc. When you hit the number 7, you should get an extra life for everything else you destroy. Repeat this process to get as many lives as desired.

Climbing
Go underneath the first bridge. Jump up and hold B and you will be climbing up.
