According to the developers, the Aston Martin Experience app stays true to the car maker’s “distinctively fusing the latest technology, time-honoured craftsmanship and graceful styling to produce a range of critically acclaimed performance sports cars that have elevated Aston Martin to a position as one of the world’s coolest brands.”
“From the moment you launch the app the opportunity to feel the full Aston Martin Experience begins,” reads the description. So what exactly does the Aston Martin Experience do that makes it so wonderful?
Well, it starts with what it’s supposed to start - Ignition. Users experience the distinctive Aston Martin start-up exhaust note upon launching the app.
The next feature in line is the Accelerator, which lets you rev your Aston Martin of choice by using your phone. The app features the V8 & V12 Vantage, DB9, DBS, Rapide and even One-77.
However, the element most reviewers seem to be crazy about is the Top Roads feature.
Aston Martin says you can “discover some of the best driving roads, complete with route information and checkpoint to share the experience,” using this feature.
The City Guide (Hg2, A Hedonist's Guide) highlights 40 of the world’s coolest cities where you can find the best bars, restaurants, hotels with GPS and checkpoints.
There’s another so-called flagship feature of the Aston Martin Experience app - the Speedometer.
It features a launch mode, which allows you to measure speed via GPS with a faithful reproduction of the Aston Martin in car dial showing speeds in mph and km/h.
Telemetry uses the accelerometers and gyroscope to display the G Force placed on the vehicle with a 0-60 timer, while the on-board camera puts an augmented overlay of key driving data on your iPhone’s screen.
Aston Martin Experience supports Retina displays and multi channel audio recordings.
You don’t need an Aston to use it and its features can be used even when at home.
The software is available from the App Store in the Utilities category where it sells for six bucks.
