HTC EVO 3D Confirmed for South Africa, to Be Announced in Q3

While Europeans and North-Americans revel in news about the latest HTC devices that will soon be available on the market, Android fans around the globe can only hope that these devices will reach their markets afterwards.

Although the HTC EVO 3D has just been confirmed for a July release in Europe, the phone is already available for purchase in United States via Sprint.

However, we've just been tipped that the phone will make its way on South-African shores some time at the end of Q3.

The EVO 3D was confirmed for South Africa via Twitter, by one of the official distributors for HTC products in the region: “The HTC EVO 3D will be available in South Africa towards the end of Q3. Retail price has not been confirmed yet.”

Those looking for a 3D mobile device should know that the HTC EVO 3D was unveiled at the CTIA Wireless 2011 and is the first HTC mobile phone to support 3D content.

After several delays, the HTC EVO 3D has finally made it to the market this weekend through Sprint and comes equipped with a large 4.3-inch 3D S-LCD capacitive multi-touch screen with 16 million colors support and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Powered by Google's latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, the EVO 3D features the highly-acclaimed HTC Sense v3.0 user-friendly interface for a complete 3D experience.

Touted as one of the most powerful Android smartphones manufactured by HTC, along with the Sensation, the EVO 3D embeds a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.2 GHz speed, which is complemented by an Adreno 220 GPU (graphics processing unit).

In addition, the phone packs 1 GB of internal memory, 1 GB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The EVO 3D sports an average dual 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash, as well as a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.
