Carphone Warehouse has just started taking pre-orders for LG Optimus 3D, which is available for free on contracts of ?35 or more per month.
It appears that LG stated that the Optimus 3D will be exclusively launched in the UK via Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy, but it seems that other retailers in the country such as Tesco are now taking pre-orders for the smartphone.
While the 'exclusivity' tagline may remain unclear for the moment, it will be interesting to see if all other retailers that are now listing the Optimus 3D as available for pre-order will be able to release the device on June 27 like Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy.Customers who pre-order the Optimus 3D from Carphone Warehouse should expected the smartphone to arrive in the week commencing June 27th.
One of the first phones to feature 3D technology, the Optimus 3D offers users the possibility to enjoy 3D content without the need of glasses.
Furthermore, the Optimus 3D features dual-channel configuration, which means that data transfers take place simultaneously between the dual-core and dual-memory, resulting in consistently faster performance.
The Optimus 3D comes with a large 4.3-inch WVGA multi-touch display and runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform, which is upgradable to Gingerbread.
Users can share all the captured 3D content with 3D TVs via an HDMI 1.4 connection using a DLNA Certified device. In addition, users can upload and stream 3D content on YouTube's dedicated 3D channel.
The LG Optimus 3D is delivered with the world's first 3D augmented reality (AR) browser, which was developed in collaboration with AR pioneer Wikitude.
The smartphone is powered by a high-capacity 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 100 hours of standby time or up to 4 hours of talk time.
